If the camera used a large fabric bellows - then maybe a couple of light proof
access sleeves could be added to the bellows. The access sleeves would allow
you to out your hands inside the camera, without letting any light in,

The access sleeves could be like what is used in a typical changing bag, but
with a couple of elastic baffles in the sleeve - so one could take your hands
in and out of the camera without letting any light in.

If this was in place it wouldn't be necesary to use a film back or roll of
paper. The paper could be rolled up inside a light proof container and
placed inside the camera prior to setup. When the camera is in place and
ready to take the picture, you could put your arms inside the camera through
the sleeves, take the paper out and place in the back of the camara. Take
the picture, and then put the paper back in its light proof container.
