Sheesh, go away for a few days and look what happens! <g>
Like many others, I have also been over at f295 and have found it useful. That
said, if help is needed then this is almost certainly a better format, as the
messages land directly in my email box and get filtered to my Pinhole directory
- can't get much simpler than that.
I've been out shooting with my new 5X7 camera (well, new to me - it's certainly
at least 75 years old and requires "help" to raise the lens board) and teaching
myself Bromoil (if you are looking for a way to take forever to create an
image, then this may be the proper road to take).
I wouldn't necessarily compare our biological age with film, sometimes it can
be a fascination to the younger set. My son (who is trying to finish college)
recently put together a rather impressive series by shooting 4X5"
transparencies in a Quaker Oats container. He's not a Ludite (he has been
using Linux for almost ten years) but recognizes that although digital has
numerous advantages, a knowledge of film can help bring another weapon in one's
armory of getting an image from head to paper.
As far as trading postcards is concerned, I'll just make mention that you don't
necessarily have to wait until the end of the year to do that. For the past
dozen years I've maintained a list of people who enjoy dong just that, and
you'll find the list over at http://GLSmyth.com. Shoot me an email if you wish
to be added to the list.
Cheers -
george
