Hi all,
I was moderately active on the list a few years ago. I haven't
done much pinhole in the interim, and haven't posted here in a
long time.
Still, I've kept a subscription, and always look forward to any
communications. Don't forget, this forum has lead to many
wonderful things: among others, the genesis of WWPD, the holiday
card exchanges, etc.
I don't think it's an either/or between pinhole-discussion and a
web based forum. People can choose the interface they prefer,
hopefully with many choosing both. I see no inherent conflict,
reasons for argument, or for hard feelings. Life is too short.
I appreciate tremendously the work Eric has put into hosting
pinhole-discussion for the last few years, and IIRC Greg Kemp
before him (excuse me if I'm mistaken about that). I think the
best discussion list is the one that remains most transparent to
the users, and pinhole-discussion has been great that way.
Maybe it's anachronistic, but I like text-based communication in
the listserv format. I like the idea that someone out there
might be reading this on an ascii terminal, making pinholes in a
tin can.
I like the idea of pinhole-discussion being around.
cheers,
Scott S
