RE: Where are all the pinholer's?

Both interesting observations - I don't contribute much to this list, but I
wonder if it isn't a matter of your frame of reference? Meaning if you
start out with film, is it natural to explore the digital realm and vice
versa? In my experience, which is admittedly small, people that are more
than just casual shutterbugs are constantly exploring all avenues at their
disposal. As a commercial designer I'm familiar with standard 35mm film and
digital photography, largely for documentation purposes, but I just bought a
house that includes a darkroom in the basement. Something I've never had
before, which is currently on my list for winter projects... I'm looking
forward to exploring some of the 'hand' processes I've read about through
this list and f295 for so long.

Hi Andy,
You're in a good position to see trends, but I'm seeing just the
opposite: a surge in interest in alternative processes, a renewed
interest in handcrafted photographs. There are a lot of people, even
young people who have been raised on digital photography, who find
the digital process ultimately unsatisfying and seek out the more
hands-on creative experience and handcrafted output that alternative
processes offer.
