Hello to All
I replied to Tom offline the following:
Hi Tom
Yes! It's very real! I also was approached by Robert Delpire and Photo Poche
about having one of my pinhole landscapes included in their forthcoming book
Stenope.
Delpire is one of the most respected men in French publishing, with a long
and distinguished history. (He published Robert Frank's 'The Americans' in a
French edition before there was an English language one.) I met with him and
his editors when I was in Paris last month for the opening of the all
pinhole work exhibition 'Iced Cold Frozen' at the Andre Malraux Cultural
Center in LeBourget outside Paris that Marie Noelle Leroy curated (and had
posted to the list some months ago)
I left with him a copy of the wonderful catalogue that they produced for the
exhibition, so it may be that his staff is interested in other stenopists
for the upcoming volume. Marienoel and the folks at CCAM are to be
congratulated for the work that they are doing in promoting pinhole camera
work. The visibility of the exhibition and now this contact from a most
respected publisher is surely to all our benefit. [If Hugues Mertens is
reading this, perhaps he can weigh in. I had the pleasure of meeting him and
a number of French stenopists at the opening. And any of our European
co-workers who have greater familiarity with Delpire, Photo Poche and
Actes-Sud, another of his imprints.]
Delpire has been publishing the Photo Poche series for more than 20 years.
It has featured the most important individual photographers, movements and
aspects of photographic history in small well printed 'pocket' books, thus
its name.
