a good pinhole day

Hi:

I had a very good pinhole day. Went with my Dad and a couple friends - one who
I teach a pinhole workshop with, and a former workshop student.

Gathered together a variety of pinhole cameras, some 8x10 cameras, a 4x10 6
hole panoramic, some 4 x 10's a 12x18 and a 16x20 camera, and an 8x10 zone
plate.

Loaded these with pre-press ortho film. This film is inexpensive and
available in large sizes. Processed in my own low-contrast developer - this
film produces nice big continuous tone negatives.

We took a changing tent, some processing tubes and chemistry. We each took a
few pictures - loaded the film into the processing tubes in the tent, and
then developed the picture "in the field". Almost every shot turned out -
had a couple of good shots tarnished by improper loading into the processing
drums. Took the film home at the end of the day and properly washed it.

We were taking pictures on the river bank. At the same time there was a MS
(Multiple Sclerosis) fundrasing walk/run on the river bank. My Dad - who has
MS took great joy in explaining what we were doing. People were amazed that
we could produce the negatives, from these home made cardboard box like
things. It was sooo much fun :)

I'll print the negs soon - van dyke or cyanotype - maybe oil print and get
them on the pinhole day site.

Gord
