Interesting idea. I just gave away my old scanner, though I gave it to my son
so I know that it will find good use. I would guess that scanning time could
be controlled with the resolution - the higher the resolution, the slower the
scan.

I put a zone plate in the body cap of my Nikon D70 and that works fine,
although I seldom like the results.
