ANYTHING made by Zernike Au of Zero Image, you cant go wrong (even if you try to) .I have one of his Multi-Format cameras, and have used a friends Zero Image 4X5 ,and was not disappointed either time. The finishes on ANY his cameras "almost " make you not to want to use it, since they are superb. But I have had my Multi Format out under adverse conditions (sand/snow ) and not had any nicks to it .I keep it swaddled in soft velvet cloth ,and wipe it clean immediately should it get drops of moisture,or dust on it .Dont be detered by the price .Ask anyone who has anything of his (Zernike's) and you will be met with nothing but positive responses.
I also have a couple wide angle (2"& 3" ) 4x5 pinhole cameras from Santa Barbara cameras, and love them too .They arent the prettiest ,but are solid ,easy to use with 4X5 /4X5 Polaroid backs ,and priced around $100 USD .Downside to them is they are bulky to carry around ,and if you want a "normal " or telephoto focal length ,then you have to carry around several cameras, not so with Zero Image.
If you have an old Graflex 4X5 ,you can make pinholes , mount them to washer with a large inside diameter, then use magnetic material like used on fridge magnets (can get them at hardware stores, and then mount them magnetically to a blank 4X5 lens board. Mark off focal lengths on the rail of the Graflex, from lens plane to lensboard (ie 2"-3" for wide angles, 8" for normal and 11" for telephoto ) marks can be cleaned off ,etc. I do this when I am travelling and want to do "normal" 4X5 stuff, and pinhole, saves weight and space .Obviously you use different pinhole sizes for different focal lengths.
Good Luck Bob in your search/purchase .

Anyone got any suggestions on pinhole cameras to buy...?
Cheers,
