Dan, I wonder if you or someone else on the list could take a few
steps back and talk about what this product does, what it does in
relation to software packages we may already know, such as Photoshop
or iPhoto, and why this (or Apple's Aperture) represents some kind
of breakthrough or next generation, if indeed they do.

There's a wide range of computing expertise on this list (including
"email-only"), and many of us are avowedly backwards-looking. It'd
be great if someone could conversationally provide a little background.
