Tom -

Like everyone else, I am not a gallery owner. However, it is clear to me why
some of these people look more towards silver gelatin prints and that is
perceived value. I have come to the comclusion that ink prints are now able to
match silver prints since I have seen it from a number of artists in my area.
But the bototm line comes down to why a person would make a purchase. Clearly,
in the case of the galleries you are encountering the answer has less to do
with the image, and more to do with the perceived value of the image.

I do both, but personally enjoy the wet end of things a lot more. I have spent
40+ hours a week in front of a computer for the past nearly 20 years, so
turning on the safelight in a darkroom give me much more pleasure.

Cheers -

george
