Your chemistry is sooooo diluted it won't matter. If you are really worried
recover the silver from the fixer. I say this presuming you aren't doing
Dag's ,real Ambrotypes or a lot of selenium toning.
Go to Sears, etc & buy one or 2 or the undersink water filters & find really
good carts that remove metals like iron.
I run a photo school with a well & septic... smile it's better than the
city.. 8o)

Subject: [pinhole-discussion] septic/summer project
Hello Vladimir!
The list is alive but quiet. I am enjoying the 90F temperatures here in
wisconsin. I am in the process of moving to a new home in the country.
I will miss my 7X17 foot darkroom......city sewer and water. But, the
new place has room for a shared space darkroom. Not optimal but better
than none at all.
It is interesting seeing my evolution in camera designs. I am turning
up all kinds of cigar boxes and reconfigured retired 120 cameras. I
found that a larger negative was easier to work with when I had my
basement darkroom up and running.
I will spend part of next year learning the ins and outs of my new well
water's chemistry and about septic tanks. The property has no drainage
field and the waste is to be taken to municipal waste treatment plant.
I am still concerned about the spent chemistry though. I recall seeing
septic trucks broadcasting material onto local fields earlier in the
year.
I am still shooting during this time. I will process the film later.
There is no time like the present to shoot film! Winter is for
printing!
warmly,

ps. i also have been painting this year, these painting have been in
exhibitions in the midwest. Titles refer to the costs of war. I am
working on getting the pinhole images that accompanied the paintings
digitized.
