Slits

Would like to speak to someone who has done a good bit
of slit photography...

Curious:
-Did you use one slit or multiple slits 'stacked' in
front of one another?

-When 'stacking' slits one in front of another how
does one determine the distance between slits? Is
there an optimal distance? How does varying this
effect image?
