We had a late pinhole day celebration, this past weekend as I was out of
town pinhole day. My friend Rick had invited many people out for a
pinhole day shoot. He wanted to give pinhole cameras to people with no
experience using pinhole cameras, let them take a picture or two and make
prints, all in the field.

Used the back of his Van for all of this.

He had made a bunch of simple tin can pinhole cameras and loaded them with
ortho film. Mostly 8x10 film.

He had bought a "mini portable darkroom" - a sort of changing bag with one
rigid side, with a door and arm holes and a telescoping back - around 2.5
ft all around, and some 8x10 processing tubes. Enough room to load and
unload an 8x10 pinhole camera.

Also brought along a bunch of ready-made cyanotypes.

Gave out cameras - told each person what exposure time to use and sent
them off to find a picture. As each person came back he loaded the film
into a processing tube and developed it. SQeejeed it and let it dry for a
few minutes - the film dries quickly

The day was cloudy and cool, with little UV light, but we wanted to try
doing a cyanotype. Put one neg in a printing frame - and let it sit for
45 minutes. It didn't look done.

We decided to "process it" Ended up setting the print on the curb and
poured water on it. Not enough UV to fog it. It developed right in the
gutter :)

Had around 5 people that had never used a pinhole camera making pictures,
and enjoying it.

It was sooo much fun :) We're not going to wait until pinhole day to do
this again.
