Au contraire, Tom, your message was a few hours LATE in N.Z.! We are
ahead of the rest of the world, not behind. I'm hoping the snow and hail
showers will clear later in the day and that I'll be able to get out and
pinhole! No event here in Dunedin, New Zealand, but I have seen ads on
websites and there is certainly awareness here. My students are away on
holiday at the moment which is a shame, but I'm hoping some of them will
take part anyway.
Cheers
Kate

Happy Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day!!

This message may be a few hours early to folks in New Zealand and
Australia, or a day early to folks in the western U.S. and Canada. In
any case, the big day is at hand.

So many people contribute to making this event happen; it is impossible
to mention them all and give the proper thanks. The web site has a
fresh, new look and has been converted to Unicode 8, which is techie
talk for the ability to present the site in nearly all languages at
once. Thanks to Gregg Kemp for these changes and to Tom Persinger for
the web work that keeps the coordinators in touch during prep time.
Wolfgang Thoma has done tremendous work getting the language
translations in excellent shape, including two new languages, Russian
(Nick Shuval) and Turkish (Loris Medici). Nick Dvoracek has been
fielding the support questions. Paolo Aldi organized a large publicity
team which sent news of WPPD to thousands around the world. Rosanne
Stutts has been in touch with teachers encouraging classroom
participation.

There are 110 events in the WPPD event listings. All of these events
have been organized locally. It is gratifying to see the event listings
come in and to realize what a wondrous and, to use a cliché, grassroots
effort supports Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day.
