Here, I'd been holding back on admitting my scanner type because it's old
and funky and I was embarrassed of it. It's an Acer. I hate to get rid of it
because It'll scan just about anything. No holder required.

in sleeves or do you keep the long roll?"
I understand what you're saying here. The scan would all be done at one
time. I hate to cut the neg though because it would cramp any future
old-fashioned-Mickey-Bayard-type darkroom manipulation that I might want to
do in the future. (Just kidding, Mickey) .
And the storage issue! I always cut and hang my negatives in pages. These
looooong negs are a problem. I figure I'll figure it out eventually and find
a way to lay them flat.

I'll probably end up doing this. Right now I've got a negative at my local
lab, just to see what they can do with it. I very much appreciated the links
to your images! And I never thought about the
light-leak-black-cloth-over-the-scanner thing. Thanks!
And Che Lawrence said, "i don't have the answer to your scanning problem,

I agree. That's the best part! Thanks everyone for your input. I truly
appreciate it! If I come up with anything beyond what was mentioned here (
and I doubt I will) I'll post it. Gotta go check the prices of those special
scanning joints ... which will probably make me want to visit the grass
store... -Marcy
