Re: Building my first serious pinhole

It is Polaroid type 667 film. I take the lens elements out of a Colorpack II
camera and install a .015 inch pinhole in place of the lens. This gives an
aperture of f/268. I then cover the electric eye with a two stop neutral density
filter and set the lighten/darken control most of the way to lighten. The
exposures will be about a 1/10 second so you have to brace yourself good, but it
is easy to make hand held pinhole pictures this way. The camera will take in
more than is shown in the viewfinder. The only other thing to remember is to put
in a new set of batteries every time you change film. If you forget the
camera will remind you about halfway through the new pack of film. I have used
pinholes up to .020 inches but the sharpness starts to fall off. If you are after
a very soft effect just use the aperture that is in the camera for 3000 speed
film and do not install the neutral density filter.
