More . . . It seems our Thanksgiving was taken from the Dutch, who had a
November celebration over the discovery of bread. In fact, most European
and Middle East celebrations in November have to do with the reverence for
abundant food at this time.

Trivia . . . but, I have five, count 'em, five portfolios on food. Fish,
egplants, peppers, and onions. One more on squash that looks like woman's
breasts. :)

But more than rationale, I find every interpretation of a celebration offers
fodder for a picture, or two.
