RE: What do you like about pinholes/pinhole cameras?

Hi Malin
The "best" thing I find about pinhole cameras is just how easy they are to
create. It has become part of my creative endeavor with PH photography to
attempt to create all of the photograph, from the camera thru the film thru
the final image. (Peters Valley is having a Wet Plate class this summer
(2005) that will finally enable me to fulfill this ambition...) For me, the
creation begins with the raw materials and ends with something I can show
someone else.

The "worst" part for me is the shutter. Sometimes I really want exposure
control, especially in the day time. For me, they are hard to build..

I love the individuality of pinhole images. It's very difficult to make 2
images come out the same, never mind looking like someone elses.

Sometimes I miss the physical control the I have with lensed cameras. The
ability to selectively focus & limit the depth of field sometimes makes the
image not as strong as I would like. Of course I can always dig out a lensed
camera.... 8o)

Good question... thanks... It's always nice to sit down & think about this.
