About pinhole cameras (bought or homemade) you've used:
-Which are the best 'features' or functions of pinhole cameras?
The ability to alter the film plane. The ability to hold the film in an position other than flat allows for interesting interpretations of the scene.

-Which are pinhole cameras lacking most (features or functions)?
A decent shutter. I have yet to come across a shutter that can be easily manipulated and also has a locking mechanism. The Zero Image camera has a very nice shutter, but brushing against it can unintentionally open it.

About the images that comes out of pinhole cameras:
-What is the appeal of pinhole images?
It is another step away from reality. I shoot black and white film because it urges me to interpret the scene, as opposed to replicate it. A pinhole image allows for a particular interpretation that cannot be created by a lens camera.

-What don't you like about pinhole images?
If there is something I do not like about the interpretation with a pinhole camera, then I use a lens camera. The pinhole camera fills a specific need - like everything else, it should be used for its strengths while other solutions shuould be used for theirs.

Cheers -

george
