Hi Again Mike,
I thought I would let you know the answers to these insights:
***
I appreciate your efforts to provide this superlative tutorial and look
forwarded to the expanded version. What a great presentation of a very
practical approach for a super productive workshop 8 shots x 50 students =
4.5 hrs. It was most inspiring. My mind leaped at the though, I could do
that as a first time out project.
Thanks!

I have a few questions about student participation and format. Do you
provide guidance to indicate depth of the pin penetration?
Yes, I demonstrate how to make a good pinhole with the tools we have and
emphasize a small hole can be enlarged but it is hard to make a big hole
smaller! That doesn't guarantee blowing a lot of lens's! :-)

I also want to clarify that you are using paper rather than film. Obviously
it produces an immediate product.
Yes, we use paper for our workshops but I plan to use 35mm film for a more
advanced workshop in the future.

“Noesting” Economy No. 17 Steel pins (300ct.)
I made nice pinhole drills using #7 needles embedded in them but my high
school students keep breaking them off. Some how they think they can force
the needle though the aluminum on the masonite tables!! I've learned in 36
years of teaching that even though "their eyes" are looking right at you as
you demonstrate a technique about 85% of them are somewhere else in their
heads!
Mike, thank you for your comments and insights.
Take Care,
Chuck
