I agree that smaller groups would be more manageable--even though I love the
idea of my camera passing through many hands on a year (or so) long trip.

Grouping by region would be wise. Though in the spirit of transnational, or
international, exchange, I would really enjoy having a wide cross-section of
people working together. This could be achieved with smaller groups based on
format, and a few responders to this thread seem to be talking about this
way of creating the groups. Much as I would like to experiment with others
cameras and formats I'm unaccustomed to working with, maybe the best way to
make the exchange flow smoothly is with smaller groups chosen according to
format, and perhaps then by region.

To try to coordinate dozens of unique handmade cameras
with different format film will be more difficult. One pass per month is
optimistic. One person who is unable to move the cameras on will collect
them all. Smaller groups are more manageable.
