I am participating in the "World Argus Argosy swap"
 http://argusargosy.tripod.com/
This involves one Argus C3 camera 40 photographers so far since November
2002. Still to come are 9 from Alaska, Australia, South Africa and Europe.
It has been fairly complicated to coordinate one camera with commonly
available 35mm film. To try to coordinate dozens of unique handmade cameras
with different format film will be more difficult. One pass per month is
optimistic. One person who is unable to move the cameras on will collect
them all. Smaller groups are more manageable.
