To All,

I thought I would toss this out. While helping coordinate the last "Formal
Swap" someone mentioned in one of the numerous emails a suggestion about
some of the swaps many of us participate in each year.

First I enjoy all of the swaps. It is great to hold another artists photo
in your hands, makes a nice connection between people. I choose also to be
in the current "Pinhole Camera Swap" that Chris is organizing. We have
some amazing creativity out there.

Some people mentioned it was hard to do some of these since they were so
close to other events and we all have busy lives as well as our passions
with pinhole!

There have been 3 main events during the year: Informal Christmas
Postcard/Photo Swap [between Nov. and New Years] were one sends to all or
portions of the list with minimal "guidelines/rules".

Then The Formal Swap [Started in Jan/Feb with a semi formal sign up,
"guidelines/rules" and groups by technique an or subject matter] where each
participant receives a print from all members of their group.

The last big event is WPPD during the last week of April with ending date in
May.

So we have 3 great projects but they have been falling into a 6 month
framework. This can be an overwhelming for those who would like to be in
all of them. Of course one could choose to not participate in some events,
this is free to all.

So to the suggestion: We leave WPPD & the Holiday Swap as they are and move
the Formal Swap to more of a late summer/fall position. This would give us
all a chance to show our summer activities. My suggestions are meant to
spread out these great events so many don't feel so much pressure when the
do commit to an event or the closeness of events makes them feel they can't
participate. I think this would be some thing to plan for 2005. These are
just suggestions and I thought I would pass them along for discussion. Have
a great summer! "And Happy Pinholing"
