Actually, I almost forgot to make reference to the beautiful web site of
Philippe Moroux
La Porte d'Aval et L'Invitation au Voyage (Title from Charles Beaudelaire's
poem)
http://utopia.knoware.nl/users/philippe/
who combines pinhole and kallitypes. Check the description of his "portable
darkroom" (which in fact is not really a darkroom) at
http://utopia.knoware.nl/users/philippe/explain.html

There are many ways to cook a bird and if you Google "portable darkroom"
(with"old time" as an adjunct if you're in a rush), you'll get a variety of
historical "portable (!!)" darkrooms.

The most interesting concept, of course, was that of Weegee who processed
his film and prints in the trunk of his car in the darkness of the NY night
(would'nt work today, unless you had some opaque material to cover the work
area). Check the movie: The Private Eye.

Happy shootings,

Guy
