Maybe I shouldn't shoot off my mouth with first reactions, but my first
response was the same I used to use when students complained that their
poorly visuallized and composed images rendered as low contast prints
were the result of not having a good enough camera.

It's the photographer that takes the picture, not the camera. It's not
that the camera doesn't often stamp some characteristic on the image,
particularly in our line of pinhole, ZP and other wondrous devices like
Holgas and Dianas, but it's only one issue out of an infinite number.

I've always liked the response of the camera store salesman when asked
if a certain camera takes good pictures: "Of course, it takes good
pictures."
