Okay... so... if you were an out-of-towner and you came to
this event... what would YOU want in the way of workshop fodder? I want to
do something fun and creative and interesting and purposeful. Your input
would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! -MM

Well, since I live right down the road, I wouldn't miss it Marcy, especially
the opportunity to see a real life camera obscura. But I do have some
thoughts about what I would be willing to "travel" for. I belong to another
online group that has held get togethers about once a year for the past 4 or
5 years - first in Cleveland. Then Nova Scotia. Then The Gulf Coast of
Texas and this summer we're getting together in Rhode Island. And all we
are is a bunch of carpenters...don't even share a hobby like pinholers do.

Anyway, the thing that attracts me to these get togethers is actually
meeting the people - sitting across a table and shooting the breeze face to
face...sharing a meal(s)...maybe a cold one (or two). Funny, when we
started these annual shindigs, about 25 people came to the first one. The
rest have had fewer, but the core cast of characters remains pretty
consistant. It's as though we have become true friends over the years,
which I guess we have.

All I'm getting at is the "draw" for me to attend another such get together,
with a different group, would be meeting the people in this group I think of
fondly, as much as any planned workshops.

Okay. I'll admit that I'd probably crawl across 47 miles of broken glass to
stand in a real life camera obscura though. You kind of stacked the deck
with that one.

Please let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

Jim
