Hi:

>From what I've read ilfosol would be OK, but a developer with a lower pH
would be better. Xtol, or D23 (don't know if you can buy D23). Diluted
Ilfosol will likely be OK - but might be a little contrasty. Try it and
see.

formula for D23

Water 750 ml
Metol 7.5 g
Sodium Sulphite 100 g
Cold Water to make 1000ml

D23 is a very simple developer. It has no alkali agents, (except for the
sodium sulphite) that raise the pH. D23 has a pH of ~8 (Ilofsol uses
sodium carbonate which is a moderate alkali likely has a pH ~9.5)

plain water has a pH of 7 considered neutral.

I think a developer with a low pH (between 7.5 and 9) is the key to
getting continuous tone negatives with lith film.

If you want to try and mix this but don't have a balance I could probably
figure out the volume in teaspoons and tablespoons for Metol and Sodium
Sulphite.

If you want get into mixing your own developers DS-10 would likely work
very will with lith film. See
