Right! Except that he never got anywhere with this re-invention because the color of blood is RED and therefore inactinic. Now, this is the reason why he got away with all his crimes: while the lethal pinhole did have the image formation potential to capture his portrait, the image just did not register.

This proved to be a source of great puzzlement to a certain Joseph Nicephore Niepce who began to experiment with various substrates and ultimately discovered that blood was totally useless in photography and that the future was in really in silver.
