encyclopedia , ca. 1880) explains :
from prefix : steno and greek : ôps = eye (Tome 7, p. 810)
there is too an article about "stenopephotographie"
(pinholephotography) who explains the advantages...
When I 've made my first pinhole pphotography, ( about 1988 or 1989...
, I don't remember exactly ) i've only heard the term "stenope"... who
exist in the french photography litterature of XIXe century
"Pinhole" appears in France more or less recently...
