Hey! Me too!
I've been working at my 100-years (?) old country house, doing renovations on the floors to get to the original woodrn floor. With my son-in-law, we removed successive layers of coverings as follows
- lino (2 layers),
- plywood (1 layer, 3/8" nailed with 1" spiral nails every two inch...!),
- lino (again 2 layers separated by black paper),
- black paper again
- December 1956 local newspaper pages
This got us to the wood floor with ?? layers of paint on it. Slow, back-racking job, great archeology...
Oh! Did I mention that the house is both smoke-free (it goes without saying these days) and computer-free. Try computer-free areas (at your own-risk: they're addictive from the very first time...)
Best regards to all and happy pinholin'
Guy
