Jim,
two options (though it's probably not as critical an issue as you may
think)...
Use your AOL account but make sure you don't use a background image or
insert any embedded objects (like pictures or animates smileys) - that
should keep the mail simple enough for the server to handle... (there are
other AOL users on this list)
or
go out and get a free account, like hotmail or netzero that lets you send
plain text (you can even tie these into Outlook Express or a similar mail
program as I do)
