I'm working on desktop negatives now as per Dan...the results look very
promising. The chapter on desktop negs is somewhat dated but it gets you off
to a roaring start nonetheless. Imagesetter neg info is current. As for the
cross platform a psd extension is npot the answer. psd i believe stands for
photoshop document. Psd files written on a MAC should open on a PC and
viceversa. So should jpegs. Tiff files and bitmaps are handled differently by
the 2 platforms and each type must be saved correctly for it's intended
use....a dialog box presents the MAC vs. PC option when the file is saved.
I'm a dedicated MAC user and I know you can open a PC tiff or bitmap on a MAC
but i don't think the PC is so user friendly.

Has anyone tried making inkjet negatives using directions from Dan
Burkholders book? And if so were they succesfull?
Also Does anyone know how to convert images scanned and/or manipulated in
photoshop on a mac, so they can be view and manipulated in photoshop on a pc,
does typing "psd" on the end of the file work?
