Polaroid states that you should not fix these negatives. Also don't leave
them in water or permawash more than a day or so since they get real fragile
& the emulsion will literally slough off. the 55 series produces a wonderful
if fragile negative...try it, you'll like it.

Hypo Clear is a solution that removes the sodium (or ammonium) thiosulfate
from
the substrate following fixing. I clear my negatives with PermaWash, which
is
a commercial solution used to wash prints.
Of course, none of this has anything to do with the original question, which
had to fixing the negative. As previously stated, I do not believe that
fixing
Type 55 film is necessary - I have numerous old negatives that have simply
been
cleared and dried.
