Neil Gourley recently posted a question concerning information on the
history of pinhole cameras. Several responses were written on the usual
sources that come to mind but I recently came across a resource that I had
never considered before. Several doctorial dissertations have been written
concerning pinhole photography with a world of information in them. I have
a copy of one called "The Post-Romantic Vision of Contemporary Pinhole
Photographers" by Renee C. O'Brien (1998) that is really great. There is
also one called "The History of Pinhole Photography and It's Application in
Education" by Stanley Ray Page (1986). While these may not be everybody's
cup of tea I have found the first very informative. I would be interested
in any other similar papers anybody knows of. Terry King
