Polaroid 4x5 Questions

Hi, I've been lurking on the list for a couple months now. I've really
enjoyed all the examples of peoples work that have been posted to the list.
I've been researching pinhole photography and trying to figure out how I
wanted to make my own pictures. I experimented with the oatmeal can pinhole
when I was in school and I always loved the images I got. I ended up buying
a santa barbara wide-angle camera, and a polaroid 545 back off of ebay.

Here's my question. What type of film should I buy for the camera? I've
seen some out of date B&W film on ebay and I thought that might be a cheap
way to experiment until I get the hang of it. Is this a good idea?

My other question is, do I need to buy film that will produce a Positive and
Negative image? I'm a little confused with all the polaroid film choices.
I've also seen some references to film coating. Is this something I need to
do?

I'm a little clueless at this point, so any direction someone can give me
would be greatly appreciated.
