I tried this trick with paper negatives. My main interest was to speed
up the paper a bit. Worked too, but then for some reason I didn't use it
after the initial tests. Maybe my born-in laziness :-) I also remember
that the fogged negative doesn't last long, it should be exposed just
after fogging.
One other thing interesting I found from the internet was placing the
negative in nitrogen gas. This is something the astrophotographers use
to get rid of the reciprocity failure. There are also some chemical methods.
