Hi,
I use the MIS inks and have found them quite good. I researched piezo
and MIS and found that MIS are cheaper, same quality, less hassles (banding,
and green shifting), and it is a completely open system (vs. custom sw from
piezo), and has warm and cold tone options. I have gotten two piezo prints
made at service bureaus (http://www.colorfolio.com and http://westcoastimaging.com)
I like them and if I was sending out for prints would be happy with the
technology.
If you are interested in the
full dialog around these products I'd suggest checking out two yahoo mailing
lists:
1) General BW digital printing (MIS, Piezo, Lightjet, HP)
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint/
2) Piezo specific
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/piezography3000/
Two notes: The tonal gradiations are close to platinium but the darkest
blacks are missing (This technology will not get the last zone of black).
Also prints are made on matt fine art paper, glossy is not available.
