Don't trust too much what you can see with your unaided eyes. Sometimes my
pinholes look like ellipsis when I hold them up to the light, but, under my
microscope they are round and clean.
You may not be experiencing this, but, you may be looking at your own eyelashes,
open up your eye lids as much as possible when looking at the pinholes and the
webs will disappear.
I'd suggest you use a microscope to check them, even an inexpensive toy
microscope will suffice, something like this, for instance (copy and paste if
the link breaks)
