Bob,
If you're into 4x5 film, you may want to consider betting one of these
old Grafmatic 1268 multiple film holders.
Each hold six sheets of 4x 5 film in just a bit more space than the
thickness of one conventional 4x5 film holder. You can make six images
without removing or flipping a film holder. Each sheet goes into an
individual metal "septum" (a metal tray that hold one sheet of film).
Pulling the film cover out exposes a fresh sheet of film. Pushing it
back in shuffles the exposed film and its septum behind the next septum.
A counter on the back of the film holder shows how many exposures have
been taken. Once all six sheets are exposed, a lock prevents you from
inadvertently reexposing the film.
They are quite numerous on eBay and sell anywhere between $40 to $80
each. If you are careful with them you can get a lot of mileage out of
them. For instance, you can load a couple and you've got 12 sheets of
film for the space of 2 standard holders. Or you load one in B&W and
the other in color. Pretty neat.
Cheers,
Guy
