RE: Type 55 in the field

Was it a Nalgene bottle? I would think one of those would work well,
lightweight, very durable lexan, and seal very well. Some of them have a
wide mouth opening, so getting the film in it would be very easy.

I bought a 4+" high lightweight plastic jar made for backpacking,
some famous name brand I can't remember. It was relatively
expensive, several dollars, but doesn't leak and I filled it with
water and rolled the negatives around the edge. They were against
each other, but didn't stick together. I carried it in a backpack
along with my Santa Barbara camera and plastic bag for all the
garbage the process creates. Worked fine to hold the negatives until
I got back to my lodging and could put them in the holding tank. I
did put the jar in a baggie in case it did leak. An easy precaution.
I had more trouble with the positive prints, swabbed them with the
sealant stuff, but it didn't dry fast or well and they tended to
stick together in my tightly packed backpack.

I like the idea of using baby wipes. Will try it this summer, but I
think the water is less wasteful.
