well now "son"
first get yourself a Minolta body cap...Drill a 1/2" or so hole in it.
Find a thin piece of brass...the thinner, the better... .oo2" is really
nice.
While you are there pick up a #80 - .0135" drill bit (Walthers sells them in
packs of 2 for about $3.00)
Cut a piece of brass to fit inside the body cap.
hold the piece of brass over a match or candle (use tweezers please) to get
it smoked black on one side.
in the dead center of the piece of brass carefully drill a hole. smooth it
on both sides with emery paper then just slip the drill in to insure there
are no burrs.
Epoxy / attach the pinhole to inside of the lens cap...black side out.
You now have a ph camera with an approximate speed of F90 or so.
you can actual compose with the viewfinder sort of...
OK...now if you can't find or don't want to use a drill get a sewing needle
& put the piece of smoked brass (sounds like it needs a bagel & cottage
cheese... 8o) ) on a piece of cardboard. Push the needle into it until you
get a bump on the other side. smooth the bump off with emery paper, & push
on that side...repeat until you get a tiny, tiny hole that looks burr
free...attach & continue, wildly bracket the first roll to figure out the F
stop.. & show us your results...
have fun

Subject: [pinhole-discussion] Help for the new experimenter
Hello all,
I have often read, studied and considered the enormous
possibilities that pinhole photography presents. Simply put, I love
imageing! And I want to finally try my hand at making these non-
traditional images. Don't you just love doing things differently? I
certainly do.
Where I need help in getting started is finding information on
making-buying-using, a cap in an old minolta slr I have. This would
allow me to process film in the darkroom at the university I have
access to. BTW, i'm a 37 year old kid. Could someone please direct me
to a good beginning point?
Many thanks, tim
