If you don't like fall-off at the edges, you have two options: -make the
angle of view no more than 70 degrees or -make the film plane conforming to
a circle and the pinhole situated in its center. The difficulty with roll
film cameras from scratch is the film winding mechanism. For flat film
plane inspiration, just take a look to your 6x9. For semi-circular film
plane cameras take a look to Doug Bardell's site from which you can also buy
plans for a fairly large list of cameras of his creation.
