While most positive films do need reversal processing, there are
some special direct positive films, and the x-ray duplicating film
may be in that catagory. Kodak Rapid Process Copy is such a
direct positive film. Essentially they are pre-fogged, and the
subsequent exposure causes reversal by solarization. Try to
find that explained anywhere. :-)
