alternative darkroom chemistry

Hi everyone,

While we're still talking about darkroom chemistry...
just wondering if anyone has tried using vinegar as a
stop bath in the darkroom. Obviously there would be
no colour change when the pH gets too high, but I
don't process large volumes of prints at any given
time so I can't see this being a problem.

I'm partly asking this is because I'm interrested in
alternative photography, but mostly because I want to
have a low-budget darkroom. If anyone knows of any
websites or has any hot tips on how to cut costs
without compromising quality, your assistance would be
appreciated.

-Jeremy
