I have 2 of these holders, and truly cherish them. I think there has been a
thread on this just a short time back.

There are pluses and minuses to working with Grafmatic holders .The plus is,
you can carry a couple holders very compactly , and have 12 sheets of film at
your disposal. The down side is, one needs to practice (if new at using them
) in full daylight, at how they are loaded ..If loaded incorrectly, they can
jam, the septums (each septum hold one sheet of film ) can get bent , and the
next attempt at unloading, or loading makes one irritated . Loading a
Grafmatic is not daunting per se, but does require a delicate handling, but
the payoff is well worth it , at least it has been for me .

One thing that wasnt mentioned was, the use of Polaroid materials, you might
want to look into them .. Polaroid makes a 4X5, or across the pond a 5X4 ...
film , but you need a special holder /processor , my used Polaroid holder
cost me about$130.00 USD , new they are like something near $200 I
think.Polaroid film isnt cheap IMHO about $2.00 per sheet , but worth it,
the reason being, I use Type 55 P/N , and it will yield a print as well as a
negative that with some extra handling, can be printed (either contact or
enlarger )later on .That can be a godsend if one doesnt have a darkroom space
available .One simply learns the exposure needed and you then can scan the
positive print into the computer and take it from there if you wish .

Hope this helps answer some questions .
