Greetings. I've just gotten around to posting two images from last summer's
shooting. Both are done using an old Mammy SLR body with a pinhole mounted
in a body cap. Pinhole handmade on .003" brass shim, about .0085" to give
me about f/213. Shot on Kodak Gold ASA100, processed by Target (Qualex),
printed 4x6 and scanned. My idea is to shoot cheap, shoot lots, keep the few
that I like.
So, head over to the upload gallery at:
http://www.pinholevisions.org/discussion/upload/gallery2001.php
and have a look at georgoffkitchen (Oct 20), and georgoffdolly (Oct 20),
First image is taken in a kitchen with a very nice old stove, second image
is my neice's dolly goes to the beach in a rowboat
Whereas I think most traditional pinholers are of a more pictorialist bent,
I am going through my "resolution" period trying to achieve maximum depth of
field at best res in the 35mm format. I figure I'll do trial and error with
handmade holes and eventually buy a laser hole for the body cap once I find
my favorite size. Maybe I suffer from some lens-separation anxiety and I
try to make up for the loss of glass by making unreasonable demands on my
holes. Maybe I gotta get through my "science guy" pihhole phase, then I'll
figure out how to do a darkroom around the house to do paper. I dunno.
Comments welcome, on list or off.
