The 405 film pack holder uses 4x5 pack film. This is
similar to the more familiar 2.75x3.75 pack film; i.e. you load
10 sheets at a time and can't change a pack until it's empty.
The back is also thicker, but probably no more so than a
Grafmatic back.
The 4x5 pack film IS available, but is harder to find than the
4x5 sheet Polaroid material. I don't think it's available in
as wide a variety of speeds as the sheet film, either.
When shopping for a used 545i holder, note that the slightly
older 545 model works perfectly well (and may be somewhat
less expensive), but that the much older Model 500 sheet film
back does not work as well with current production Polaroid
sheet film. They are available at very low cost, but the dark
slide stop won't work, which leads to wasted film if you pull
the slide out to far (as it is impossible to get it back in properly
once it is out . . . )
