I have not had problems with T-NUTS, you install them from the inside of the
camera, a bit of black epoxy glue can be smeared on top of it, if you think
it is needed. The more you tight the tripod thumb screw (or whatever it is
called), the more secure the T-nut would get. For those that don't know

T-NUTS can be purchased at many hardware stores, I buy mines at Home Depot.
