There are no rigid specs. Pinholers experiment and play. the only thing I
can think to tell you is that if you use a focal length shorter than about 2
inches you'll get a lot of vignetting, which ain't necessarily bad. It'll be
very wide angle also. Tinker with cardboard boxes, using photographic paper
for film until you get theparpameters you like.
