I, personally, would get some old polaroid cameras (like the 100, 250, etc.)
and remove the lens (very easy to do). Then I'd give the kids a 2" square
piece of aluinum from a disposable cookie sheet. They drill the hole and
attatch it to the camera. They make pictures either using Polaroid film
(expensive) or by using paper that is loaded into an old Polaroid pack
(cheaper). I've done that more than once---they get the idea. And you can
reuse the camera bodies and empty film packs for the next go-round.
